You will learn all aspects of boat building, from the traditional timber skills through to the latest carbon fibre composite techniques, developing hands-on skills and experience that will carry you across industries..
On the job education, mentoring and training from some of Australia’s most experienced tradespeople will allow you to develop your skills enabling you to problem solve and contribute to the day to day activities of our working boat yard. As a leader in the design and production of custom crafted boats, you will have the opportunity to work with state of the art equipment and processes at the cutting edge of boat building in Australia and globally. Norman R. Wright & Sons design and construct boats for Government, Military, Police, Emergency Services and Logistics organisations, along with a selection of the finest recreational boats in the industry, so your role will always be evolving and developing, providing you with the environment, team and skills to become a leader in your field.
Many of our team members completed their apprenticeships straight out of school and remain with us today, as we provide the platform for our team to grow and advance their careers whether remaining with us and taking on leadership roles, or moving on to other opportunities after they complete their trade.
